The Tengri Awards was a project that enabled those at London College of Fashion to take part in an industry specialised collaboration with Nancy Johnson, founder of luxury brand Tengri. Developing an ethical and sustainable busniess plan to engage with communities from different parts of the world was the aim for the project.My choice was to research into my Grandmother's Finnish heritage and explore Sámi culture and reindeer herding. Contacting weavers in Finland and ethically sourcing reindeer leathers from Sami communities gave the potential to initiate a fair partnership.
